What Happens On A Sunday?
After parking in the car park at the bottom end of the school, and taking in the spectacular view across Inverness, follow the pavement signs to the school entrance. Turn left as you enter the door into the main school hall, where we meet.
The Main Meeting
The meeting will be hosted by someone from the church, and will begin at 10.30am with a short introduction and some announcements of forthcoming events.
We'll spend some time praising God, singing some modern worship songs, led by one of our bands. The words of the songs will appear on a large screen on the wall.
Giving to the offering is part of our worship. However, we don't expect visitors to make any contribution to this; please let the box pass you by without embarrassment,
During our worship there will be space given for people to share something which they sense God is prompting them with. This could be an encouraging word for the church, the city, or the nation. This could also be a word of knowledge - something specific about another person which will encourage and build them up, or it might be a specific word about God wanting to bring healing. Or, it might be a tongue, which will be followed by an interpretation.
From time to time we share communion together on a Sunday and this is very informal.
Each week we hear a Bible based message, usually as part of a theme we're following.
After the message there may be an opportunity to respond to what has been said. There will always be opportunity for prayer.
Everyone is then invited to stay for tea or coffee and a chance to get to know each other better.
At CCI we believe that our children should have the opportunity to have fun while learning and experiencing God for themselves.
Children remain in the main hall, with their parents, then leave for their respective groups around 11.15am with their leaders.
Crèche is for children up to pre-school (aged 4). Crèche is led each week by a brilliant team, and fun and play is the order of the day!
Mosaic is led each week by a dedicated team of leaders, all with lots of experience in working with children in a church context, and some as their 'day job'!
Mosaic is for all primary school children (5-11years). Within Mosaic we have lots of fun as an all-age group, but often divide into smaller age related groups for the Bible story, or craft. Our desire is to help the children understand and experience the reality of God in their lives.
We are following Scripture Union's Mosaic teaching materials.
